Terms, Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability
Uniterns is operated by Enreal Limited. Version 1.0.
1. What Uniterns is (and isn't)
Uniterns is an online platform operated by Enreal Limited that connects students, parents/guardians ("sponsors"), and host organisations ("employers"), and facilitates the funding of internship stipends through a third-party escrow provider. Enreal Limited acts only as an intermediary and technology provider. It is not the employer of any student, not a party to the internship or employment relationship, not a bank, deposit-taker, lender, or financial institution, and not an agent of any user. Enreal Limited does not itself hold, own, or control user funds — stipend monies are held and released by the licensed escrow partner.
2. Eligibility & accurate information
Users must be 19 years or older, legally capable of contracting, and provide true, accurate and complete information. Enreal Limited is not liable for any loss arising from false, incomplete, or fraudulent information supplied by a user.
3. Service provided "as is"
The platform is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind (express or implied), including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted or error-free operation, or that any placement, match, payment, or verification will be achieved. Enreal Limited does not warrant continuous availability and may suspend, modify, or discontinue any feature.
4. Money, payments & escrow
Stipend funds are held and disbursed by the third-party escrow provider; releases are gated on confirmed attendance. Payments are processed by third-party providers (e.g. Safaricom M-Pesa); Enreal Limited is not liable for their failures, delays, reversals, downtime, charges, or errors. Enreal Limited does not guarantee the availability, security, or return of funds held by the escrow or payment providers, nor any particular refund outcome beyond what the platform's published rules and the escrow partner provide. Sponsors are solely responsible for the source and legality of funds they contribute. Fees, withholding tax, and deductions are as displayed in-app and may change.
5. Internships, placements & student matters
Enreal Limited does not guarantee any internship, placement, match, stipend amount, duration, income, skills outcome, conversion to employment, or the conduct, quality, safety, or legality of any employer, workplace, or student. The internship/engagement is a direct relationship between the student and the employer; all workplace conditions, supervision, health & safety, and compliance with labour and other laws are their responsibility. Enreal Limited is not liable for any act, omission, injury, loss, harassment, dispute, non-payment, misconduct, or damage arising between users, including at any workplace.
6. Third-party services
The platform relies on third parties (escrow, payment, verification, hosting, communications). Enreal Limited is not responsible or liable for their acts, omissions, availability, security, or performance.
7. Verification & KYC — not a guarantee
Identity checks (KYC) and other verifications are performed on a reasonable-efforts basis and are not a guarantee of any user's identity, character, background, solvency, or intentions. Users transact with one another at their own risk and are responsible for their own due diligence.
8. Conduct, safety & safeguarding
Users are responsible for their own conduct and safety. While Enreal Limited provides mechanisms such as ratings, reporting, and incident handling, it does not control users and is not liable for the acts or omissions of any student, sponsor, employer, or third party. Nothing here limits any non-excludable statutory duty.
9. Taxes & legal compliance
Each user is solely responsible for their own tax obligations and compliance with all applicable laws arising from their use of the platform, stipends received, or funds contributed.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Enreal Limited (and its directors, officers, employees and agents) shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary loss, or for loss of profit, data, goodwill, or funds held by third parties, arising from use of the platform. To the extent liability cannot be excluded, Enreal Limited's total aggregate liability to any user is limited to the total fees that user paid to Enreal Limited in the preceding three (3) months. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded (including for fraud, or death or personal injury caused by negligence).
11. Indemnity
Each user agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Enreal Limited against claims, losses, and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from that user's breach of these terms, misuse of the platform, or violation of any law or third-party right.
12. Governing law & disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Kenya. The parties will attempt to resolve disputes amicably; failing which, disputes are subject to mediation or arbitration in Nairobi, or the courts of Kenya.
13. Data protection & changes
Personal data is handled in accordance with the Data Protection Act, 2019 and our Privacy Policy. Enreal Limited may amend these terms; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

By registering or using Uniterns, you confirm you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms, Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability.
